Many people have asked the difference between the tablets and notebooks. Most people consider the tablet as a part of a PC. In fact, iPad created by Apple Company is different, and there are no equal and similar products before.

The tablet made by Microsoft before were very heavy, and had a bad experience. The main reason was that Microsoft wants to make its tablet into pc. But the apple company wants to make the iPad into a magnified cell phone which can meet some common functions. This subtraction is designed to be more accorded with the consumers who have been increasing simple demand. Then we will analyze the differences between the tablet and notebook from seven areas:

Shape difference:

The notebook structure which can support more port and more peripheral equipment is more complex than tablet. Most notebooks use the non-touch operation except for particular notebooks; most tablets use the touch operation except for the particular tablet which uses removable keyboard or slide out keyboard. The structure of most tablets is extremely compact and concise which only have one board and a LCD touch screen.

Weight difference:

The weight of the tablet will not exceed 1kg. The 10 inch tablet's weight is from 600g to 900g, while 7 inch tablet's weight is about 400g. But most notebooks' weight is more than 1 kg.

Volume difference:

Tablet screen size is from 7 inches to 10 inch. All size of which is slightly larger than the LCD.

The thickness is less than 15mm; that the second generation of tablet thickness is almost less than 1cm. The notebook thickness is about 20mm; ultra-thin notebook is more than 15mm yet.

Input method difference:

Most command of the tablet is inserted by fingers; the microphone and gravity sensor is used to assist tablet special operations input. Most command of the laptop is inserted through the keyboard, mouse and touch board; occasionally with a microphone or the rest of the peripheral equipment.

Environmental difference:

Both Tablet and notebook are suitable for mobile using. In terms of convenience, tablet virtually can be used in anywhere because of small size, little weight and simple formation. Due to morphological constraints, notebook can only be used in an area to be placed (like desk and knee). In addition, utilizing posture is also different. The tablet is just one board which can be used on hand directly; notebook needs to be utilized by sitting which greatly limits the applicable occasions, and the notebook is more suitable for using on the desktop in the room.

Function difference:

The tablet laid particular stress on entertainment (like viewing web pages, watching videos, reading books and playing games). The notebook is versatile equipment; which have almost all functions except for a few gravity induction games.

Content using difference:

The tablet is used for consuming content. The notebook is used for creating content and consuming content. The notebook has a distinct advantage. Nevertheless, from the future developing trend, most of the people will be consumption people; only few people used the notebook for creating content in the work.

In the short term, the tablet will not threaten the mainstream notebook. Besides cell phones and camera, the rest of the digital products are almost getting some impose; especially in MP4 players and digital frames frame market. The whole PC and Internet environment are basically designed on a PC, so notebook won't have dangerous in a short time; but it's difficult to grow. In a few years, some analysts predict, the number of tablets will surpass the notebook. Tablet using will be deeply into every aspect of life. With the continuous improvement of the system and software, the work, study and entertainment will not leave the tablet in the future.
